LCM is a train-dispatching model used to analyze railroad route capacity. The model considers multiple train types, class priorities, scheduled and unscheduled trains, mechanical interruption, track construction and a wide range of other dispatching and operating characteristics.
LCM is a discrete-event simulation model that can help an analyst determine the sensitivity of a railroad route for any number of long-term operating and capital planning alternatives.
